trixbox Pro Systems allow customers to upload mp3 files used for music-on-hold.
Upload a New Song
- Click on AutoAnswer --> music on hold
- Under the "Add New .mp3 'Song'" heading, click the 'Browse' button
- Locate the mp3 file on your computer
- Click 'ok' to confirm
- Select the appropriate playlist from the drop-down
- Check the box marked 'Local Server' only if your computer and trixbox Pro are located on the same Local Area Network.
- Click 'upload'
Your trixbox Pro uploads the song, and the page refreshes. You should now see your song listed under the appropriate playlist
mp3 Format
All songs uploaded to a trixbox Pro must be saved in the following format:
- Constant bit-rate
- 128 kbps
- Less than 20 MB
Create a New Playlist
Every trixbox Pro comes with unlimited playlists. You can create as many as you want, name them whatever you want, and use them in any submenu or queue.
- Click on AutoAnswer > music on hold
- Under the 'Create a new Playlist' heading, type a name in the space next to Playlist Name.
- Select either 'loud' or 'quiet' from the Volume drop-down. You can modify this value later if you wish.
- Select either 'sequential' or 'random' from the Song Order drop-down.
- Click 'Create Playlist'
The page refreshes and you will see your new playlist appear near the bottom of the page. Playlists are ordered alphabetically for quick reference.
Change the Playback Order
Music-on-hold playback has two options:
You can change the playback option of any playlist at any time.
- Click AutoAnswer -> music on hold
- Find the playlist you wish to modify in the list
- From the Order drop-down, select the playback type
- Click Apply All Changes at the bottom of the page
Using Playlists throughout the trixbox Pro
Once you have created all the playlists that you need and added songs to each, you can set a unique playlist for every submenu and/or queue within your trixbox Pro .
Set a Playlist within a Submenu
- Click on AutoAnswer --> sub-menus
- Select the sub-menu you wish to change from the list
- From the 'Add New Sequence' area, select '0' from the 'After step:' drop-down
- Select 'Set Music-on-Hold Playlist' from the 'add new step:' drop-down
- Click Apply All Changes
- The page refreshes, a new sequence appears as Step 1. Select the appropriate Music-on-Hold Playlist from the drop-down
- Click Apply All Changes
Set a Playlist for Callers Holding in a Queue
- Click on AutoAnswer --> sub-menus
- Select the sub-menu that routes callers to the queue you wish to modify
- Locate the sequence beginning with 'Go to Q:'
- Select 'music' from the drop-down next to 'w/'
- Click Apply All Changes
